Senate Bill 7: Cannabis Regulation and Taxation Act

Senator Heather Steans introduced SB 7 which creates the Cannabis Regulation and Taxation Act. SB 7 is based on more than two years of hearings and research inititated by Sen. Steans and Rep. Kelly Cassidy. SB 7, which was re-introduced as an admendment to HB 1438, passed the in the Senate on May 29, 2019. See the voting record here (pdf). Senate Bill 2023: Banking - Cannabis Business

Senator Toi Hutchinson introduced Senate Bill 2023 which would prohibit the Illinois Secretary of Financial and Professional Regulation from penalizing or discouraging financial institutions from providing financial services to cannabis-related businesses. House Bill 902: Cannabis Legalization Equity Act

Representative Carol Ammons introduced House Bill 902 which creates the Cannabis Legalization Equity Act. It provides that at least 51% of the licenses for cultivation centers and retail cannabis stores be in communities disproportionately harmed by the war on drugs, and allows adults to grow up to 24 marijuana plants at home.
